OK!
I went from Australia to Liverpool England, to see Cilla Black sing in the Panto. A long way for a Panto - yessssss! Was it worth the trip? YESSS! Although Cilla was the Fairygodmother, she had a really big part and I think was on stage more than any other cast member - hence it could easily have been called CILLARELLA! Cilla was just as great as she has ever been. Her voice is still amazing, her comedy skills and stage presence is still perfect. I saw the Panto six times -- well it's a long way to go to see it just the once. It was worth every hour on the plane, and every layer of clothing I put on to face the Winter over there!!
After doing two shows a day, Cilla would come out to heaps of people at the stage door, wanting autographs, photos etc (me included!) She seemed to have all the time in the world for the fans - even though she must have been tired after two 3 hour pantos - she even thanked everyone for waiting for her. Not once did I see her get in the car before asking whether everyone got what they came for, gave a big smile and wave and a 'God Bless'.
Really, a one of a kind true star is our Cilla!
